Sarah venit is an Associate Attorney at Land Legal Group who focuses her practice on Family Law and Dependency cases.
Before attending law school, Sarah dedicated one year to the AmeriCorps’ City Year program, working at an underserved elementary school in Chicago’s west side. She then went on to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of California- Hastings College of the Law, where she was a board member all three years for the Hastings Association of Youth Advocates. While in law school, Sarah clerked and gained meaningful experience at Children’s Law Center, The Public Defender’s Office of Los Angeles, for a private criminal defense attorney, and fought for adults who were convicted of serious crimes as children and harshly sentenced through Loyola Law School’s Juvenile Justice and Fair Sentencing Clinic. Sarah worked to reduce their sentences or have them entirely commuted, and made sure that the people she was helping were seen as people who made a mistake when they were young and deserve a second chance, not criminals.
Sarah has dedicated the better part of her adult life to advocating for children and marginalized families. After being admitted to the California Bar, Sarah worked as a minor’s counsel at Children’s Law Center of California, Los Angeles. There she represented children in the foster care system, and learned how to work both with and against DCFS to get favorable outcomes for her clients.
She took her experience as a minor’s counsel, and brings that same lens to her work in family law, here at Land Legal Group. She continues to work in the dependency practice, representing parents, and also works in family law to help settle or reach resolution in matters such as custody, support, property division, and restraining orders. Sarah is committed to advocating for her clients, despite the obstacles, and has honest conversations with them about what is in not only their best interest, but also their children’s. She prides herself on building trust with clients, and will advocate tirelessly until a favorable outcome is reached.
